Practical Matters Reality Fair 7/20/18

The Practical Matters Reality Fair is an event designed and coordinated by Creative Community Services, Inc. with the help of our sponsors and volunteers!

WHAT

  • The Practical Matters Reality Fair is an event designed to give at-risk youth the chance to gain the "real-world experience" of making financial decisions in their lives, while receiving guidance & advice from professionals & social workers whose goal is to see them succeed.
  • Each youth (aged 14+) is assigned a career (chosen from their top 3) and given a folder with details on their income and family details - some may be single or married, others may be divorced with two kids, etc.
  • The event floor is set up with many life event booths facilitated by our generous volunteers, which the youth will visit to complete their goals. Booths include "Housing", "Out of Money", "Health Insurance", and more.
