Family First Prevention Services Act Part 7:
Bringing Medicaid and Managed Care Partners
into the Implementation Process

Thursday, March 28 – 2:00 - 3:30 p.m. ET

As child welfare leaders and their stakeholders have been reviewing the requirements of the Family First legislation, key partners – the Medicaid Directors and the Managed Care entities in the state – are not always at the table as part of the discussions. Participants will have opportunity to hear from representatives in Virginia about how they are collaboratively working with their Medicaid counterparts as part of their Three Branch Implementation Plan, how Medicaid leadership has been engaged and involved in the direction Virginia has taken, and how their Managed Care entities are being involved. Attendees will learn about effective ways of engaging the state Medicaid Directors and Managed Care entities, and the value of having them involved and at the table. Also, a Youth Advocate will share with attendees why it is critical for the involvement of these key players.
