Weekly Update November 1, 2019

NEWS RELEASES & UPDATES

The big news of the week is the success of the 2019 Georgia Conference on Children & Families, which was held at Marriott Augusta.  The conference is truly a team effort.  We appreciate the TG member participation on the planning committee and in attendance, sponsorships, and extra volunteer help at the event.  Thank you!

avorite pic of the 2019 GCCF:

If you attended the conference you possibly noticed at the Hamby & Aloisio exhibit a gentleman diligently working on some needle work. Curiosity killed the cat, but since I'm not a cat, I stopped and asked about his project.  I'm grateful I took time to inquire. Gale showed me the first completed piece, which reads, "She believed she could so she did." Gale made this for his friend's wife who is battling cancer. I was deeply touched by his love and support for his friend and wife. These are the people with whom we are blessed to work in the field of child welfare. The conference requires a lot of work, especially prior to the event. Once we arrive at the event, I'm surrounded by loving, caring people who make my day. I was especially blessed this year. Thank you all for your kind words and gracious support.

GCCF Planning Committee TG members: Nicole Aldred and Sally Buchanan (TG Board President, Alison Evans also served a vital role at the conference.)

+Hawks Tickets provided by Goshen in a drawing at the networking reception. An interesting side note is that one of our members had his name drawn for the tickets, but he was not yet at the reception due to waiting on his wife to finish a few minutes of work. Unfortunately, you must be present to win, so he did not receive the coveted tickets. However, his wife won a $50 gift card at the closing session door prize. Perhaps she will share her good fortune — toward a Hawks ticket?

Congratulations to TG member agency award recipients:
