Vashti introduces new executive director, Elijah Miranda

Introducing our New Executive Director Elijah Miranda

New Year, New Leadership

The Vashti Center is pleased to announce Mr. Elijah Miranda as the new Executive Director, beginning on January 3rd. Mr. Miranda has extensive experience in the Public Health sector, most recently as the HIV/AIDS Program Director for the Southwest Public Health District in Albany, GA. He also served as the Senior Health Educator of the Mount Sinai Adolescent Health Center in New York City.  While in New York, Mr. Miranda received his Master's Degree in Public Health from Hunter College, and is also a Master Certified Health Education Specialist. Mr. Miranda also received his Bachelor's Degree in Health Promotion and Behavior from the University of Georgia in Athens, where he met his wife Raina. 

Regarding his appointment as the new Executive Director, Mr. Miranda stated "I feel blessed and excited to be the Executive Director of the Vashti Center. This is an organization that has done so much for the children and families of our community. Vashti has always been embraced by the community for its wonderful work, which speaks to the impact it has had since it was founded more than one hundred years ago. It is an honor to continue in that vein and help Vashti grow and build on its legacy of having God as it's cornerstone for providing hope and healing to those children and families most in need."

Mr. and Mrs. Miranda reside in Thomasville, along with their three children: Asher, Jackson, and Sydney Mae.
