Billing and Coding Behavioral Health Services – Practical Application

Thursday, November 16, 2017, 10:00am - 2:00pm

Program Description: Denials, delays in payment and more request for information all affect the operations of behavioral health providers. Increasingly Medicare, Medicaid and Managed Care companies require that specific guidelines are followed for service reimbursement. Procedure code and policy changes have further complicated the reimbursement process for all type of behavioral health individual and facility providers. A review of the new and current requirements for behavioral health billing and code rules is the main objective of this seminar. Participants will learn the most current and accurate coding procedures coupled with documentation tips and complete definitions to ensure prompt and optimal payment for future insurance claims. Additionally, participants will receive a detailed review of examples of correct coding for psychiatric services as well as examples of documentation requirements, Medicare coverage guidelines and private carrier-specific guidelines for reimbursement.
